A well rounded Lodi team was awarded the JV league title after defeating Tracy decisevely on Friday afternoon. Lodi rushed for 307 yards compared to 162 for Tracy. Lodi had a 200 yard rusher and their defense was one of the first teams to hold Austin Ho-Sy in check limiting him to 47 yards on the ground. Drew Frederick had two 2nd half touchdown passes to Damien Boozer (32 yards) and Cody Lammerts (18 yards).
The Bulldogs will play their final game of the season next week at home vs West.

Frosh/Soph lose to Vacaville 28-6
(sorry no Frosh photos this week, I was out of town).
On Tracy's 2nd series of the game, the Bulldogs committed to the run game and generated a long drive that culminated in a touchdown at the 4:39 mark of the first quarter. 6-0
After Vacaville immediately responded with their own touchdown, Austin Ho-Sy returned the favor and went 71 yards right up the middle with1:38 left in the quarter. Ho-Sy scored on the two point conversion to make it 14-7 to close out the first quarter.
Although Tracy had a strong offensive showing early in the game, their 14 points would be all that would come their way. Vacaville took a 21-14 halftime lead and then put 28 more points on the board to put the Tracy Bulldogs on ice the rest of the game.

The JV defense had a rough afternoon in the Thursday heat at Turlock. Turlock scored early at the 8:16 mark to get the first seven on the board. Tracy tied the game late in the first when Mason Meyers scored on a rushing TD. The scoring drive was setup by a long run by Meyers earlier and a pass from Drew Frederick to Damien Boozer. When Turlock touched the ball again they scored quickly to finish out the first quarter with a 14-7 lead.
At the 8:09 mark of the 2nd quarter, Turlock quickly placed another score on Tracy and the game was getting away from Tracy early. With 5 minutes left in the half, the score was increased to 28-7. With 1:58 left in the half, Frederick threw a ball way down the right sidelines and Boozer took advantage of his long arms and legs to extend fully and make a fingertip catch heading into the end zone (photo here). Tracy could not take advantage of Turlock fumble late in the first half so the score at the half had Turlock sitting on a 28-14 lead.
An early score in the 3rd by Turlock finished off the meaningful activity in this game as Tracy JV now returned home with a 1-2 record.
One team was in shape and the other was not. It was clearly evident in the 2nd half that the conditioning and hard work the Bulldogs had put in this summer paid off. The Thunder players cramped up play after play late in the game shifting the momentum significantly in Tracy's favor.

JV GAME SUMMARY
The opening kick off for the JV season came Tracy's way, but disaster struck instantly as the Bulldogs could not field the ball. The defense was able to hold Kimball on their first series and Tracy then responded with a long drive for their first possession of the year. At the 4:15 mark of the first quarter, Drew Frederick found Damien Boozer on a slant route over the middle for a 20+ yard TD. The kick by Kyle Wright made it 7-0
Trailing 7-0 after the first quarter, the Jaguars responded with a touchdown of their own at the 8:05 mark on a pass play.
With 2:43 left in the half, Tracy marched down the field but were frustrated at the goal line as running the ball was not getting them into the land of six. Finally a 5 yard pass to Damien Boozer gave Tracy the lead again and it would be 14-7 heading into halftime.
Kimball scored early in the 4th to close to within one at 14-13. Tracy would pull ahead very late in the game to win 23-13 on a safety and an interception return by Dwayne Thomas.

Tracy jumped out to a 13-0 lead and ended the half feeling good with a 19-6 advantage. St. Mary's owned the 3rd quarter taking the lead at 20-19. With six minutes left Austin Ho-Sy scored his 3rd touchdown of the game and gave Tracy a 25-20 lead and then held St. Mary's to regain possession. Marching down the field with under 3 minutes left and a 5 point lead, it looked like Tracy might score again but a fumble and a face mask penalty gave St. Mary's one more chance with 2:39 remaining. On the first play from scrimmage, the Rams hit a jackpot with a 63 yard touchdown pass to put a dagger in Tracy's JV homecoming game.
