On Friday night the High School football season started, and the Bulldogs collected the 21st Tracy High win in the 31 year series with West.  It was also a record setting night as the 69 points was the most in this series which started back in 1996.

The Bulldogs wasted no time letting West know who was #1 in town.  On the first play from scrimmage at the Tracy 36, Brady Brown launched a deep pass down the West sidelines to Maddix Severson who was wide open and walked into the end zone.  The point after by Miguel Pena made it 7-0.

With just 2 minutes ticked off the clock, West fumbled deep in their territory and the ball was recovered by AJ Byrd for the 2nd Tracy score.  The Conner Giulliaci point after made it 14-0.

In the next West drive, Ryan Foster would make a beautiful lunging interception to give Tracy the ball back at the West 45, but the next offensive drive would be intercepted by West.  Tracy would play spirited defense to push West out of the red zone and ultimately give Tracy the ball back.

David Grisham would get his first rushing touchdown of the year next on a 71 yard burst right up the middle with 5:25 left in the quarter.  Pena got the point after (21-0).

With 3:58 left in the quarter, Kaedan Gulko would intercept a pass on the West sidelines at their 40 to put the ball back in Brady's hands.  Brown would then throw another deep pass that was hauled in by Jayden Ballard McClellan over the middle and taken to the 2 yard line.  With 2:18 left, Brown would  race after a bad snap on the ground, buy time scrambling and eventually find Severson for his 2nd touchdown.  The point after by Giulliaci made it 28-0

Grisham would make 34-0 with 6:10 left in the 2nd quarter with a 15 yard rushing touchdown up the middle.  The point after by Pena made it 35-0.

Gulko would haul in his 2nd interception of the first half with a pick at the Tracy 23 which setup a 63 yard run by Ahmad into the red zone.  Liam Young would get the score on a 4 yard run with 2:21 left in the half

Xavier Davenport would join the party with a pick six late in the first half as he rushed the quarterback and threw up his hands to haul in the ball at the 25 and then score.  The Pena extra point was good.

49-0 halftime.

The 2nd half would not start well for West as they fumbled on the first play and then Brown would bully his way into the end zone from 22 yards out to put Tracy up 55-0.

In the 4th quarter with a running clock, Arjun Kalirai threw a 3 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Alvarado to make it 62-0 with the point after by Pena.

West would get on the board with 9 minutes left in the game on a kickoff return to place the score at 62-7.

With 5:57 left in the game, the final Tracy touchdown would come on a 80 yard rush from Liam Young to finish the game at 69-7.

The JV came out with intensity and the defense delivered a turnover on the first play deep in West territory as Myles Moore stripped the ball which was recovered by Chris Camacho.  Mylles Posten would quickly get the first Tracy score of the season on a short yardage run.  The Logan Taylor point after made it 7-0.

Alex Montenegro would get the next score on a punt return with 5:24 left in the quarter.  The point after was blocked by West  - 13-0.

With 3:47 left in the quarter, Alexander Salinas had a 30 yard pick six to give the defense their first score of the season.  20-0 with the point after.

Mylless Posten had a 5 yard keeper early in the 2nd quarter to put Tracy up 27-0 with the Taylor point after.

With 6:06 left in the half, Posten found Jace Bohren on a long pass over the middle to make it 34-0.

Posten kept the ball with 4:18 left for approximately 35 yards to put Tracy up 41-0 on the Taylor point after.

Steven Olson would score the final touchdown of the first half with 2:04 left to give Tracy a commanding 47-0 lead.

On the first series of the 3rd quarter, Olson would score from 20 yards out and Tyler Edwards would kick the point after 54-0.

Alexander Salinas would score from 1 yard out to make it 61-0 and complete the scoring at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Coaches Comments:  "We struggled out of the gate to find our footing in the first half. By the second half, especially the 3rd quarter, we began to click a bit through the air. I was proud of how our boys never showed one sign of quit and we had a punchers chance down the stretch. I'm super proud of them and look forward to our next game!"

The Tracy offense showed promise in the first drive when Jalen Davis found Dezi Gama on a 46 yard pass to get the ball deep in Merced territory, but the Dogs could not manufacture any point on the drive and would have to wait until the 4th quarter to put some pressure on Merced.

Trailing 21-0, Tracy assembled a long drive early in the 4th that culminated with a one yard run by Davis.  The Dogs got two more when Davis pitched to Aiden Gonzalez to make it 2-8.  An onside kick attempt was successful and gave Tracy another scoring opportunity which they capitalized on.  Davis this time threw a 25 yard strike to Dezi Gama.  The extra point by Lucas Infante-Rosario made it 21-15.  Merced score would score another 7 to close out the game. (if the names are not correct on this summary, my apologizes, I'm looking at the roster I have).
