Tracy Bulldogs 21 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 28
Coach Pribble possessed postgame optimism as he saw his team improve over last week's performance but he knew that a much better team performance would be needed next week in Brentwood to walk away with a victory vs Liberty. "I thought we accomplished our game plan fairly well but we need to execute the little things better. We communicated well on defense tonight which made me very pleased. We are still trying to figure out who we are as a team and we have a lot of work to do as we progress towards league play in October, said Pribble." With the win, the Bulldogs now have a 2-1 record as they prepare for Liberty High next week.
Tracy got off to a quick start as Maxwell Moore blocked the Mustangs punt attempt after just 1:30 had ticked off the clock. The ball trickled to the goal line where Dylan Hazelbaker crossed the goal line and took possession for six points.
Tracy would fumble in their 2nd possession of the game giving Mountain House the ball and the Mustangs responded with their biggest play of the night when they connected on a long touchdown pass to take a 7-6 lead.
With 3:58 left in the quarter David Goularte had a 35 yard kickoff return along the Tracy sidelines. The good starting field position and a subsequent 30+ yard run by Goularte set up a 5 yard touchdown run by Juan Godoy. Elijah Gutierrez then got two more points on a run up the middle to give Tracy back the lead at 14-7.
As the Tracy defense gave the ball back to the offense, Godoy found Elijah Castanon on a 29 yard catch and run down to the 5 yard line. Gutierrez would take it up the middle for a 5 yard score and Giovanni Martinez got the point after for a 21-7 lead. For Gutierrez it would be his 2nd touchdown of the night as he accumulated 85 yards in the contest vs the Mustangs.
With time winding down in the first quarter, Tracy got another fumble recovery and was looking to score on a pass to the end zone but it was picked off by Mountain House to end the threat.
Q2 - Some sloppy play in the 2nd and some good defense by both teams kept the score stagnant until Gutierrez got another touchdown from short yardage out. The Martinez extra point gave Tracy a 28-7 lead as they entered the locker room.
There was no scoring in the 2nd half of the game.
Lucky Tupouata would lead all defenders with 10 tackles. Godoy would go 3-5 for 72 yards passing in the game.

The Tracy offense, defense and special teams combined to put a lot of points on the board this evening. The Bulldogs were able to utilize a plethora of personnel to get in on the party this evening at Wayne Schneider Stadium. The defense completely kept the Mustangs in the stable as they were never able to generate any sort of momentum with the ball.
Competition will get much stronger next week as the undefeated Dogs play at 1-1 Liberty who are very strong program.
