If you arrived a little late to this game, you missed a quick onslaught of scoring by Liberty as they racked up 21 points in the first quarter and had Tracy off their game plan early. A combination of effective run/pass game by the Lions gave Tracy issues early and it was only until 2:15 left in the first quarter that Tracy finally stopped the Liberty offense.
Defensively the Lions put a lot of pressure all night on Brady Brown and clogged up the running lanes often. Tracy's only scoring would be a 27 yard field goal by Bryce Perry with 2:24 left in the first half. After that Tracy was only able to strike up the band in the 4th quarter on a 5 yard rushing touchdown by Brady Brown combined with a 2 point pass to Juan Godoy to give Tracy their 11 points on the night.
"I thought we had some highs and lows in this game but we just could not get any rhythm going," said Coach Pribble postgame. "We seemed a little intimated in the beginning which was similar to last year at their place. That's a good physical football team that we learned from. We need to head to Chico (Pleasant Valley HS) next week with some pride in what we are establishing here."
The Bulldogs will close out the first half of the regular season next week when they make their big road trip 156 miles North.

The JV Bulldogs (now 4-0) faced a strong opponent that played physical ball with Dogs. The Bulldogs showed their a quality team in 2025 and in the win they showcased how good their offensive and defensive line play was. JD Palumbo led the Bulldogs with 3 touchdowns.

The Tracy offense came out on fire as they scored quickly before the Liberty Lions could get comfortable on the turf. On the 2nd play from scrimmage Steven Olson celebrated his birthday by scoring from 38 yards out. The first of seven extra points by Logan Taylor made it 7-0. After a defensive stop on 4 plays, Tracy took over again and Olson got his 2nd touchdown from 45 yards out (14-0).
Liberty would get on the board with 3:25 left in the quarter when they exposed the secondary on a pass play. The 2 point conversion was good (14-8).
With 3:25 left in the quarter, Jquhal Jackson scored on a 52 yard run along the Liberty sidelines (21-8).
On the ensuing kick off the ball was mishandled by the Lions and Kolby Dennington scooped and scored from about 25 yards out (28-8).
The 36 point first quarter would come to an end when Julian Velarde picked off the Lions at the goal line.
The Tracy defense played very well in the first half. The Lions defense finally stopped Tracy and forced a turnover on downs with 2:55 left in the half.
Tracy would go up 34-8 when Alex Montenegro scored from 63 yards out. This would finish the first half scoring barrage.
Montenegro would get his 2nd touchdown from 10 yards out to put Tracy ahead 42-8 in the 3rd quarter.
In the 4th quarter, Liberty moved the ball with their passing game as the teams began to exchange touchdowns. Ethan Porter scored from 2 yards out to give Tracy their final score with 8:28 left.
Two more late game touchdowns by Liberty narrowed the final score to 49-28.
"I love how we started so strong in the first half and the beginning of the 2nd half," said Coach Kevin Speer postgame. "We lost some of our dominance later in the 2nd half when some of our guys didn't know their assignments. Overall though it was a good win."
"I think Pleasant Valley plays a lot like us and it will be a competitive game next week in Chico," said Speer. The start time in Chico will be 5 p.m. and the 4-0 Dogs will look to close out the first half of the season with a perfect 5-0.
